Scholarships

St Mark’s College offers annual scholarships based on leadership, sporting endeavour and involvement in academic and community life.

College Scholarships

St Mark's College annually offers a range of scholarships for new and current students. This includes scholarships for boarding, indigenous, academic, VET and agriculture, as detailed below.

To apply, complete and return the Application for Scholarship by the Friday in Week 9 of Term 2 the year prior to tuition. If you are a new applicant to the College, you will also need to complete the College Enrolment Form as part of your application.

Scholarship Opportunities

$5,000 per year for up to 2 years for new enrolments

  • 2 x Scholarships available for a new enrolment in Year 7 - 12

$2,500 per year for the duration of enrolment

  • 1 x scholarship at each year will be awarded to a new enrolment
  • 1 x scholarship at each year will be awarded to a current College student

$2,500 per year for 2 years

  • 2 x Scholarships available at each of the following year levels: Year 7 and Year 10
  • 1 x scholarship at each year level will be awarded to a new enrolment
  • 1 x scholarship at each year level will be awarded to a current College student

  • 1 x scholarship at Year 11 for a student engaged in a VET pathway
  • 1 x scholarship at Year 12 for a student engaged in a VET pathway

Mrs Elsa Chilvers was a teacher at St Mark’s College.

In her memory, Elsa’s family established a trust to award a scholarship each year to a student moving on to tertiary study.

Year 12 students are invited to apply for this scholarship and information about applying for the scholarships will be provided at school.

It is awarded for Academic Achievement and contributions to the life of the College that are positive by way of the students’ participation in all facets of College Life.

This scholarship donated by the Port Pirie RSL is to the value of $1000. The purpose of the award is to assist a Year 12 student to achieve their academic endeavours during their final year at school.

Applicants are invited to apply by submitting a CV detailing their academic history, involvement in the community/school activities, their goals and aspirations for the future. Information about applying for the scholarships will be provided at school.

The Little Friends Scholarship, developed by 'Friends of Dignity' has been established to ensure all children have the ability to either further their education and/or be able to participate in extra-curricular activities that they may not be able to pursue due to the financial impact of Domestic and Family Violence.

This scholarship provides funding to a maximum of $500 per child and covers the following:

  • Educational - The educational Category may include, but is not limited to, school fees, laptops, iPads or other devices required for school, textbooks, stationery requirements, specialised equipment such as art supplies, or Hospitality uniforms. It may include costs for excursions, camps, access to academic competitions, or school uniforms.
  • Extra-Curricular  - The Extra-curricular category may include, but is not limited to, sporting equipment, sport uniforms, tuition costs, training or transport costs. It may include equipment for music, the arts or to cover the costs of representative teams. It may also be used for sign up or registration fees for a sporting season, competition, debating, or some element of the arts.
